(my own manual instructions below)Review:This little gadget has been perfect for keeping my fur baby fed on the weekends I’m out of town. I had no issues using it for his dry food, Meox mix. After playing around with the buttons, you’ll realize that you have to hold down the lock button to unlock the screen, & if you mess up while setting the numbers- you have to start all over again (as there’s no back button). This is literally the only con. The eating dish is detachable and smooth to clean. I keep it plugged in as well.GUIDE:1) hold lock button to unlock2) press set & you’ll see what you’re changing will blink3) the first set should be the number of meals. It’ll show as “1 2 3 4-“ and then after you set how many. It’s unto the next step, time and portions.4) now, you are setting the time of the meals. As you’ll see, it shows “1” & blinks the time. After selecting the time for meal one, you’ll “set” and move on to repeat those steps if you put mult. meals in the previous step. If it does NOT show a number for “M” (meal), you are setting the time!5) The portion! They provide a grid showing portions, but I played around with it to get a visual of how much food would be released. So, basically- I did a test run where I only set one meal for a few mins in real time (you could do the same before setting the 2-3+ meals. Enjoy!
We bought this product a little over 2 years ago for our cat, Oreo. I love the product's feature of scheduling feedings and being able to easily change such times, if needed. I believe I have to refill the top container maybe 3-4x a month, but then I don't need to worry about the daily feeds. Very durable and quiet. We have had no problems with it the whole time we have used it and our cat still loves it!
Perfect for when I’m gone during my 12 hour shifts or on short weekend getaways I do usually every 2 weeks. My cat has the amount of food I set at the times I set so I know he’s not over eating, couple it with a water fountain I fill so he has clean water he’s good to go
Great item to have on hand. Not just for the times I am away! This food timer has been instrumental in getting my cats fed consistently, and keeping them on a set schedule. What more could I ask for with these creatures of habit that thrive on regularity and consistency??? I Highly Recommend this feeder for a single or multiple cat household.
Easy instructions holds half my bag of cat food my cat understood within days of using it she loves it easy to clean and it's plastic but durable been knocked over once didn't spill it's only loud when dispensing but it helps your cat understand noise means food
Had it about four months now and it’s working great. It’s be nice if there was an indicator to remind us when our cats food is low but the timing and portions are pretty spot on. Dispenser is a little noisy but not the worst
First auto feeder I ever bought and I won't get another one. It's super easy to set up. It dispenses the perfect amount. My cat immediately runs to eat whenever she hears it.
Works perfectly, as long as you use small bite cat food. I would spend the weekends at my boyfriend's an hour away and always have to have someone come feed the cats. No more. This is inexpensive and works as it should. Took a few minutes to set it up and it's been life-saving.
Easy to set up when you read the instructions. As a student always working and doing school this is so helpful, prevents my cat from missing meals when I'm not home. Good size and holds a good amount of food.
This is a great feeder. High quality. Easy to program the portions and meal times. Works wonderfully! Looks great too! We love it!Great customer service from IMIPAW and quick response to customer questions. My rabbit chewed through the power cord and they were able to help me get a replacement cord.
I needed a auto feeder for our outdoor cat as we are traveling for a few days. We have had some in the past that the raccoons have gotten a hold of and destroyed so I wanted one with a flat top to weigh it down and prevent that. This one fit the bill and was priced right so i grabbed it. The instructions were clear and the setup was easy. I was able to program several feedings a day into it to ensure the cat gets food during the day as the raccoons will also take advantage of it at night. The hopper holds quite a bit of food, more than we need to add for the 2 days we are gone and the feeder is working as intended. I was able to weight it down on top with several bricks and there is no way a raccoon can drag it off now. I won't need it all the time but its nice to have the peace of mind when we are out of town and to know the cat is getting fed (As well as several stray cats in our area). So far its durable, easy to clean as the feeding tray pops off and the quantity of a meal is programmable so I can ensure the cat is fed without over feeding her or every animal within a mile. I have it undercover on a back porch so the weather won't affect it so I can't speak of outdoor durablilty yet but it seems to be solidly built. Im happy with the purchase and prefer this one over the way more expensive one I had in the past
We have not felt like jerk cat parents in one month because this lifesaver makes sure that he gets his food bright and early and it controls the portions so we don't over or underdo it which allows us to track how he's eating. It should be noted that he was terrified of this thing for the first week and a half, but he is a gigantic scaredy cat so it was kind of expected. He's fine now. He actually trots over when he hears it make noise
Easy to use and carries a good bit of food! It’s fun to watch my cat sprint across the house when he hears his food drop. It’s easy to control the amount of food he’s receiving and when it’s released. Cleaning is also super easy. My cat also loves to swat at it and no matter how hard, even when he knocks it down, won’t open.
Super easy to set up and has withstood quite a beating from my special needs raccoon. I did use large zipties to secure the whole unit to a post so she can't knock it over, but other than that, she has been unable to get inside it.
Very stylish design with good functionality. You are able to specify times and portions. The interface is easy to learn and use.
Both my cats love their automatic feeder. It was easy to set up and didn't take then long to learn when it was dispensing their food. The 6 meal times and adjustable amounts makes it easy to set up for only one or multiple cats.Paired with a water fountain, it puts my mind at ease in case work runs late or something comes up and I'm not home by feeding time.
Super easy to set up and use. Our cat took a day, or so, to get used to it so I recommend getting it set up and running at least a day before you need it so your cat can get used to it while you're still there. It makes just a very little noise when the food is dropping into the bowl. There are a whole variety of settings for the portion of food and the frequency it pours so it's also good to give yourself time to figure it out so you don't overfeed your cat.
Using the D cells it seems to work okay. Was easy to set up. Could have used slightly better settings instructions. The cat food is the right size for feeding. Wanted to test it using the manual method. Thought it didn’t work by the instructions the said. Seriously need to be more specific about using the two buttons up and down. By accident it worked perfectly by holding the up button continuously and pushing the down button intermittently for every serving size you want. Other than that it seems to be a good product and not skidding around here. Fits perfectly where I want it and cat is happy so far
I would've given this 4 starts if the lid wasn't so easy for my dogs to open. They should have more rings in the cap to twist on to keep it locked. My two dogs aren't even the brightest, but they easily get the lids off to easily gobble down their food or let rodents get the rest. And no, they are not hungry. They're just dogs and try to eat everything. I feed them more than their vet recommends just in case (not overweight though). Also, the bowls detatches waaaaay too easily. But, it is nice if you want to put a different bowl under, which I'll probably end up doing bc when my dogs eat it spills over bc it's small and shallow. This unit was made for small dogs and cats. So, i didn't subtract any points for this. Though I wish they did have a larger version. (I got the largest they offer).I use duck tape to keep the lid on and we will build some type of box or strap to keep the lid on once they figure out they can chew off the tape. I also strap them to the wall so that my dogs can't knock them over, which they've done. obviously the food doesn't come out when it's titled or fully knocked over. But, I do like these feeders because they are good for my offgrid property. I have to be careful about what I connect to my small solar system so it doesn't get overwhelmed. So, I opted to use rechargeable D cell (or whatever the big cylinder ones are that you use for these feeders) batteries to power these feeders. The power lasts a long time on these batteries. It's been a month and theyre not even halfway out of power. I brought 6 rechargeable batteries for each feeder. So, when the current ones get close to being dead, I'll swap them and recharge them so that I can continue swapping them out. I expect the batteries to last 2-3 months based on how well they're doing now after one month.I keep these feeders inside a little shed to prevent them from getting wet (but a diy waterproof box should work fine as well). Note, where I live it does reach freezing temps of about 25-35 at night. But no snow so idk how it operates if it gets too extreme and it is not protected in shelter.I have two feeders for each dog. That's simply because I do not want to have to constantly fill them up. I get about 1 week for my 40-50 lb dogs. So, I have both set on the highest feeding amount of 20, and then 5 because the highest amount isn't exactly the right amount to fill my dog. (We are using dog chow right now and sometimes it seems to clog with the large bits, so we are going to try crushing them a little before we switch brands. For now we just give it a gentle shake and it resumes).ExampleBreakfast (feeder 1)6:30am set to 206:32am set to 5(25 is the amount of food my dog needs)Lunch (feeder 1)12:00 set to 10(My dog doesn't need this extra, but I just give it to him bc I hoped he would be overly full and would stop opening trying to open it)Dinner (feeder 2)5:30pm set to 205:32pm set to 5So, overall I like these feeders. I'm considering using them for my chickens as well bc it helped with the rodents in my dog area. We still get some, but not as many. The food also stays fresh. The gravity fed automatic feeders were cutting it and the food went to the wild rodents and there were droppings in the food. Disgusting. So, I like these feeders bc at least there's none in the food. They pretty much just get what my dogs drop and can't reach. I will see if I can left the feeders and put a larger wider bowl under to prevent food from falling and hopefully help. The company just needs to work on better lids because what's the point if all the food gets in in a single setting?
I’ve been using the IMIPAW Automatic Cat Feeder for a few weeks now, and overall, it’s been a great addition to my pet care routine. The setup was quick and straightforward—even if you’re not tech-savvy, programming the feeding schedule is intuitive. I appreciate the option to schedule up to 4 meals a day and adjust the portion sizes, which helps keep my cat’s eating habits consistent. The 3L storage is more than enough for several days of food, and the stainless steel bowl is a nice touch—it’s easy to clean and feels more hygienic than plastic. The dual power system (USB and battery backup) gives me peace of mind in case of power outages. That said, I do have a couple of gripes. I wish it allowed for more than four feedings a day, especially since I have a grazer rather than a meal-eater. Also, my curious cat has figured out how to nudge the feeder trying to get extra food—thankfully, the design prevents most spills, but it’s something to keep an eye on.Despite those small issues, the feeder has worked reliably and consistently. It’s a great value for the price and makes my life a lot easier, especially when I’m away for the day or sleeping in.
